Nestled in Matunga — Mumbai's beloved "Little South India" — the Samaj has been a home for worship, music, learning and community life for nearly a century.
Founded in May 1927 as a small gathering for devotional singing, it grew into one of Mumbai's most cherished South Indian temples. Its vibrant Rajagopuram remains a landmark of Tamil spiritual heritage in the city.

The presiding deity — Lord Rama with Sita Devi, Lakshmana, and Hanuman. The first idol was a Tanjore portrait, later replaced with sacred stone murtis encased in gold.
